Termite Infestation

Hearing the word “anay” or termites bring fear to many of us. It will be our ideas that our houses or properties being destroyed little by little which is associated with high costing of the damaged taken. Signs of Termites

Small straw shaped mud tubes are the most recognizable sign of termite activity. It’s like a tunnel that allowing the termites to move back and forth between their colony and source of food. The tube maintains their body moisture requirements. Termite castle or “bungsod” is another sign of it. It’s composed of mound mud or clay that is used for pottery. Location of Termites Infestation

Ceiling – Despite of elevation, termite chooses no place to infest. Wooden ceilings, wood beams, and wood rafters are susceptible to damage. Sign of infestation at that location is cracked or sagging ceiling. Wall – Check the uncommon cracks of the concrete wall. Though it’s not visible from the outside, it is one of the common signs of infestation and your wall has been compromised. Sagging plywood and Lawanit are also signs of termite infestation Foundation – Termites can go through the cracks of the concrete foundation and look for cellulose materials to consume. If its started to infest the foundation, it will compromise the whole structure of the building. Floor – Marine plywood or wood floor is also susceptible of the termite infestation. They go under and they are consuming little by little until it is unstable and sagging. Windows and Doors – The frames of the windows and doors are first that was infested until the result that it’s not useful anymore. Cabinets – Termites Infestation starts at the back of the cabinet which is not visible. If it is stored by books and files, it will be the first to consume.
